Sergey (Danil Kozlovsky) was once an outstanding student in the university's history department, but now he has become a small-time hustler dealing in stolen artifacts. He leads a group consisting of Zhirip (Vladimir Yaglych), Spirt (Andrey Terentyev), and Qiuhua (Dmitry Volkostrelov), constantly moving between various ancient tombs in search of treasures that could make them rich overnight. One day, in an ancient tomb, the four unexpectedly discover a safe, which contains military IDs with their names on them. Terrified, Sergey and his companions find themselves transported to 1942 through a lake beside the cemetery, where they become soldiers in the Soviet Army about to go to the battlefield. Besides facing the enemy's heavy artillery and the omnipresent threat of death, the biggest problem for Sergey and the group is how to return to the modern world.
