Winner of the Best Documentary Short at the Sundance Film Festival, "John Was Trying to Contact Aliens" is a 16-minute short directed by British filmmaker Matthew Killip. It tells the story of John Shepherd, who spent 30 years in his Michigan home trying to contact extraterrestrials.
