Han (played by Xu Jinjiang), Xi, Guan, and Bonnie (played by Yuan Qiongdan) are four bank robbers. They hijack an armored car, with Han and Xi blocking the pursuing police, while Guan and Bonnie encounter a young cop, Jia Hui (played by Aaron Kwok), during their escape. Guan accidentally falls off the motorcycle and gets captured by Jia Hui. Upon learning that his accomplices have been caught, the cold-blooded Han storms into the police station and shoots Guan in front of everyone to silence him. Due to the severity of the case, the police station transfers Jia Hui and female officer Shan to the serious crimes unit to assist with the investigation. The two collaborate with rival detectives Liu (played by Louis Koo) and Ma, starting with the guards and tracing leads to a certain karaoke bar.
