Sebastian (Ryan Phillippe) and Kathryn (Sarah Michelle Gellar) were originally children from two different families, but became step-siblings due to their parents' union. The two engage in a game for their own selfish reasons; if Sebastian loses, his luxurious sports car will belong to Kathryn; if he wins, Kathryn will provide him with a night of service. This game requires Sebastian to seduce the headmaster's daughter, Annette (Reese Witherspoon). Although he has been with countless girls in Manhattan, Annette presents a challenge—she has claimed in an article for a magazine that she intends to remain a virgin until her wedding night. For this difficult quest, Sebastian naturally goes all out, but he unexpectedly finds the game becoming increasingly complex, exceeding his expectations.
