Gay couple Eun-soo and Yi-won live happily together. One day, Eun-soo is involved in a serious car accident, resulting in the death of her sister Eun-hui. Eun-soo's sister's daughter, Soo-min, becomes an orphan. Eun-soo and Yi-won face the situation of adopting Soo-min. "Ivy" is a film that prompts reflection on the true meaning of family. After the accident, Yi-won says, "Aren't we a family? How can family members abandon one another because of a car accident?" Eun-soo replies, "Family? Who thinks we're a family?" The three women live together as Yi-won hopes, sharing their daily lives. However, societal prejudice prevents them from forming a family. The true beauty of this film lies in its ending. Just like Do Jong-hwan's poem "Ivy," it does not offer a happy or sad conclusion; even if there are detours, they continue to slowly choose the path to happiness without rushing.
