The story takes place in a small town located in the Alps, where the family of Jonas Hartmann (played by Jonas Hartmann) has lived for generations. They work the land with their own hands and sell their harvest to the village down the mountain to make a living. Although their life is hard and somewhat barren, Jonas and his family feel very happy together. Jonas has a special ability: he can communicate with animals.
