Sir Lionel (voiced by Hugh Jackman) is a monster investigator who risks his life to gain the recognition of elite explorers. He travels across mountains and seas in search of undiscovered monsters, vowing to leave his mark around the world. One day, Sir Lionel receives an anonymous letter claiming that a rare, gigantic creature has been found in the Pacific Northwest of the United States. Overjoyed, Sir Lionel immediately sets off on a journey to find it. Soon enough, Sir Lionel encounters his dream creature—Mr. Link (voiced by Zach Galifianakis), who shocks Sir Lionel with his apparent lack of ambition and his mastery of human language. At Mr. Link's request, Sir Lionel decides to take him to Shangri-La to find his distant relative—the Yeti.
