Scott Eastwood, Caleb Landry Jones, and Orlando Bloom will star in the Afghanistan war-themed film [The Outpost], produced by Millennium Media. The film is directed by Rod Lurie and is adapted from the work of CNN journalist Jake Tapper. The story revolves around the true events of 53 American soldiers who engaged in a prolonged battle against approximately 400 enemy fighters in northeastern Afghanistan. The outpost they built is located at the base of three steep mountains just 14 miles from the Pakistan border. The base faces attacks from Taliban terrorists, and the soldiers stationed there are confronted with significant threats. In the film, Scott Eastwood plays Sergeant Clint Romesha, Caleb Landry Jones portrays Specialist Ty Michael Carter, and Bloom's character, Benjamin D. Keating, tragically loses his life during the war in Afghanistan. Filming is expected to begin this August, and the film will be looking for buyers at the Cannes Film Festival.
