Emily (played by Evanna Lynch) has been a girl with a head full of quirky ideas since she was very young. She does things unconventionally, and even her eccentric parents are considered oddballs by others. After her mother's death, Emily's father (played by Michael Smiley) is sent to a mental institution, and Emily is placed in a strange foster home, making her even more peculiar and reclusive. One day, Emily meets a boy named Arden (played by George Webster), who, unlike others, is deeply attracted to the mysterious aura surrounding Emily. Emily tells Arden that she wants to go to the mental hospital to find her father, and willing to do anything for Emily, Arden steals his grandfather's car, and the two set off on a journey.
