Lawyer Edee Mathis, played by Robin Wright, is filled with sorrow and decides to erase her traces from society. After consulting survival experts online, she "disappears" to one of the most remote areas in the United States: the Shoshone National Forest in Wyoming. Mathis lives in a cabin, learning to hunt, fish, and grow food, battling the harsh winters and brutal landscapes, as well as the deadly beasts. During this time, she encounters an Indian named Joseph, prompting her to confront her inner demons, and to her surprise, she discovers that her will to survive is stronger than she imagined.
