Thirty years ago, Hoberg, a member of the Icelandic crime trio, was murdered in his own home. Officer Elrando and two partners (played by Ingvar Eggert Sigurðsson) are responsible for the case. A photo of a grave at the scene catches Elrando's attention, and following this clue, Elrando uncovers the truth behind an old rape case. Meanwhile, her daughter Eva is indulging in a reckless lifestyle, becoming pregnant out of wedlock and not knowing who the father of the child is. As the investigation deepens, Elrando discovers that the cause of this case is a rare genetic disease, a tragedy that seems to have been doomed from the start. The film won the 2006 Edda Awards for Best Film, Best Director, Best Actor, Best Supporting Actor, and Best Sound (Music), as well as the Crystal Globe Award at the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival.
