The story takes place in a fantasy world where humans coexist with dragons. The tyrannical fire dragon plunges the entire nation into suffering and danger. To protect his people, King Augustus (played by Arnold Vosloo) is forced to abandon the nation's dignity and become a vassal to a neighboring country. The princess Louise (played by Amy Acker) is deeply resentful of her father's decision; she believes that avoidance is not a long-term solution, and that only by fighting back can true victory be achieved. Louise seeks the legendary dragon-slaying knight but instead finds his son Gabriel (played by Tom Wisdom). Gabriel awakens the ice dragon that has slept for many years; it is the fiercest opponent of the fire dragon. Meanwhile, through various clues, Princess Louise discovers that all the misfortunes are not coincidental but rather the result of someone’s deliberate actions.
