Louise (Iris Berben) is a molecular biologist who, despite her age, finds herself alone and realizes that it's time to plan for her future. The most viable option seems to be getting pregnant and having a child to pass on her excellent genes. However, having a child is not something Louise can accomplish on her own. Frans (Edgar Selge) runs a gallery and is successful in his career, yet he remains solitary and without support. Looking back on his life, Frans realizes he has made too many wrong decisions and committed many irreparable mistakes, but it's not too late; he decides to restart his life and explore more possibilities. Fate brings Louise and Frans together, and inevitably, they fall in love.
