In order to save their daughter Kate (played by Sofia Vassilieva), who is suffering from leukemia, her parents use genetic technology to create a perfect match in their younger daughter Anna (played by Abigail Breslin). Anna feels like nothing more than a "drug reservoir" for her sister Kate; for 11 years, she has been providing everything Kate needs, be it cord blood, white blood cells, liver cells, or bone marrow.
