Poland in 1962. Anna is an orphan raised in a convent. Before officially taking her vows as a nun, she leaves the convent to meet her only remaining relative, Wanda. Wanda tells Anna that she is Jewish. The two women embark on a journey that will not only uncover the tragedy of their family but also help them find their true belonging. They start to question their previous faith and everything they once trusted in their lives. Both Anna and Wanda want to continue living, but only one of them can do so.
