After his father's passing, Xiaokang (Li Kangsheng), who sells watches on the overpass, like his mother, consciously feels little emotional connection to him but cannot escape his omnipresent influence on his psyche. Due to a watch that shows the time difference between Paris and Taipei, Xiaokang meets Xiangqi (Chen Xiangqi), who is going to Paris, and from then on, he believes he has established some form of connection with Paris (Xiangqi), finding a kind of empty solace. When Xiaokang expresses his ambiguous feelings for Xiangqi by setting his clock back 7 hours and watching the film "The 400 Blows," Xiangqi, far away in Paris, also struggles to find meaningful positivity in her life. Whether with women (Ye Tong) or men, she cannot find the warmth she desires from either.
