Alice (Julianne Moore) is a successful university linguistics professor who has been happily married to her husband John (Alec Baldwin) for many years. They have three children: Lydia (Kristen Stewart), Anna (Kate Bosworth), and Tom (Hunter Parrish), all of whom have grown up healthy. At the age of fifty, Alice faces a major life change when she begins to notice her memory deteriorating. Over time, this decline worsens, and after a doctor's diagnosis, she learns she has Alzheimer's disease. With her vibrant emotions, precious memories, and sharp intellect fading, Alice gradually loses everything that is important in her life. However, with the support and encouragement of her family, she does not lose hope for living and bravely faces each new day.
