Director Ry Russo-Young (The End of the Fing World, Everything Sucks!) will helm the new film The Sun Is Also a Star, starring Yara Shahidi (Mixed-ish, The Sun Is Also a Star). Based on the bestselling novel of the same name by Nicola Yoon, the film tells the story of Natasha, a girl living in New York who falls in love just before her family is deported back to their hometown of Jamaica, challenging her practicality. Tracy Oliver (Girls Trip) adapted the script, and it is jointly produced by Warner Bros. and MGM, set to release in North America on May 17, 2019.
