Nicolas Cage has a new film, and this time he plays himself. The protagonist of the film is Nicolas Cage himself, who has a crazy desire to land a role in Quentin Tarantino's next movie. He often converses with a version of himself from the 90s in his mind, who continuously criticizes him for "always taking bad roles" and "not being that movie star anymore." The story follows Cage, who is on the brink of bankruptcy, as he agrees to attend the birthday party of a billionaire fan (played by Pedro Pascal) for a fee of one million dollars, only to discover that the wealthy man is a dangerous drug lord. When Cage is recruited by a CIA agent, the situation takes an unexpected turn, and to save himself and his loved ones, he is forced to play an unforgettable role—Nicolas Cage—using his most iconic and beloved screen characters to fulfill his legendary life. "The Weight of Talent Can't Be Borne" features several segments that pay homage to Cage's signature works, including "Leaving Las Vegas," "Face-Off," and "Gone in 60 Seconds." The film's style is reminiscent of the 2002 movie "Adaptation," which was a masterpiece by director Spike Jonze and writer Charlie Kaufman.
