Tie Laoda (played by Chen Jianbin) returned to his hometown after working outside a few years ago and did not wish to leave again. He decided to settle down and make a living deep in the mountains. He and his brother operate a motorcycle taxi at the village pass to maintain a basic livelihood. One afternoon, the motorcycle drivers gathered at the pass waiting for passengers. Tie Laoda never expected this would be the last time he sees his brother. A long-haired youth (played by Wu Xiubo) riding his brother's motorcycle suddenly has malicious intent, robs the bike with a knife, kills his brother, and flees the scene. Tie Laoda decides to pursue the murderer across the country to avenge his brother's death. He rides his motorcycle from south to north, through Guizhou, Chongqing, Inner Mongolia, and Shanxi; tracking all the way, experiencing betrayal, deceit, the harsh realities of life, and struggles with his own emotions, ultimately finding the killer in a black coal mine, only to fall into a desperate situation himself...
