Xue Lun (played by Wen Zhang) and Dan Dan (played by Liu Yun) are a couple born in the 1980s. After getting married, Xue Lun urgently needs funds for his startup, so Dan Dan sells the wedding house her mother bought for them in Beijing to support Xue Lun. The couple temporarily stays in a small courtyard house. As the Spring Festival approaches, Xue Lun's parents (played by Zhang Fengyi and Cong Shan) decide to come to Beijing to celebrate the New Year with their son, and coincidentally, Dan Dan’s mother (played by Cai Ming) and her family from Yunnan also plan to visit Beijing for the Spring Festival. Since Dan Dan initially hid from her mother that the house was sold, she must now borrow accommodation from the current owner for a few days to keep her support for Xue Lun a secret. Both sets of parents arrive in Beijing one after the other, and the young couple manages to hide the truth. However, the parents' visit isn’t solely for their children; each has their own personal matters to attend to, leading to a series of comedic events during this festive season…
