Cheung Ho-Kit (Tony Leung Chiu-Wai) was originally a senior employee at an insurance company with a bright future, but by chance, he was found to have a brain cyst that posed a life-threatening risk, leading to his dismissal from the company. Wah Yung-Hero (Andy Lau) is a street thug who drifts through life aimlessly. Despite coming from completely different circles, these two men encounter each other, become acquainted, and ultimately become friends. Through Ho-Kit's introduction, Yung-Hero starts working at the insurance company and begins a new chapter in his life, while the laid-off Ho-Kit helps Yung-Hero with various errands. Yung-Hero quickly gains the appreciation of his female boss, and the two gradually develop feelings for each other; meanwhile, Ho-Kit serendipitously meets his soulmate Fanny (Yuan Jieying), and they slowly fall in love. Just then, a series of unexpected events occurs.
