Matt is a partner at a European investment fund. Early in the morning, he receives a call from another partner at the company, Anders, to deal with recent issues concerning financial debts. Matt's wife, Heather, hopes he can accompany her to handle some affairs. Their young daughter, Emily, is having breakfast, while their son, Zach, is thinking about how to skip school with his girlfriend. Soon, Matt decides to drive the two kids to school. On the way, he receives a phone call from someone claiming that a bomb is installed in the car, and if he doesn't complete the tasks as instructed, the bomb will be detonated. Matt naturally thinks it's a prank and hangs up. When the phone rings again, the caller reveals all of Matt's personal information and demands that he transfer money into a specified account. Matt begins to take the sudden call seriously. He contacts his colleague, Silvan, and realizes that he and his wife also received a threatening call in their car. Soon, Matt witnesses Silvan being killed by an explosion right in front of him. Furious, Matt vows to protect his children and resist to the end.
