In the first year of the Tang Dynasty's Emperor Dezong, an unusual phenomenon appeared in Chang'an. A Taoist predicted that a black dragon would soon emerge, threatening the local populace. Fishermen frequently offered sacrifices of livestock and poultry, yet peace remained elusive. One day, a scholar from the Lu family (played by Chen Haomin) received his father's approval to take a boat eastward to break off an engagement with Bai Ying (played by Li Mengmeng), the daughter of the Bai family. However, strange weather almost caused their boat to capsize, and after narrowly escaping, they arrived at the Bai residence only to discover that Bai Ying's father was missing from the Hundred Flowers Pavilion, resulting in a series of setbacks during their journey.
