For those struggling in poverty, surviving is the greatest meaning of life. 18-year-old Rosetta (played by Émilie Dequenne) is such a woman beset by misfortune. Her mother is a self-destructive alcoholic, incapable of making a living, indulging in relationships with low-life men, and the burden of life falls entirely on Rosetta's shoulders. The two live in a trailer, and Rosetta has yet to find a stable job, but deep down, she has a stubborn will to survive. In such a harsh life situation, she even goes so far as to turn against her only friend in her quest for a job. This is because friendship seems too fragile in the face of survival. Fate does not favor this tenacious girl; she eventually reaches a breaking point in her life and chooses to commit suicide. However, fate delivers another cruel mockery.
