Clumsy Larry (played by Larry The Cable Guy) has just had the worst day of his life. Extremely depressed, Larry decides to invite his neighbor Bill (played by Bill Engvall) and his childhood friend Everett (played by DJ Qualls) to drown their sorrows over the weekend. Just when the "Three Idiots" are enjoying their drinks, they are misidentified by an officer as AWOL soldiers and are inexplicably sent onto a plane, preparing to be deployed to the battlefield in Iraq. Even more absurd, the "Three Idiots" are mistakenly airdropped into an unfamiliar town in Mexico, and believing they are in the Middle East, they decide to take action. The local warlord, Carlos Santana (played by Danny Trejo), is brutal and threatens the townspeople. By a stroke of luck, the "Three Idiots" accidentally rescue villagers trapped by a gang of thieves. Suddenly, the three become big heroes in the eyes of the town's people.
