The intricate relationships and events in the city are perplexing. A money-laundering criminal is being escorted back to Hong Kong when professional killer Qu (played by Daniel Wu) shoots him and escapes. The mastermind behind this is the money-laundering group leader Rao Tiansong (played by Louis Koo), but at the same time, his son is abducted by other mysterious figures. The case starts to become increasingly complicated. This case is handled by police officer Sun (played by Aaron Kwok), who has always had bad luck. This time, he is unexpectedly surprised to discover that Rao Tiansong's lawyer, Du Housheng (played by Ekin Cheng), has a wife named Amy (played by Li Xin Jie), who resembles his girlfriend missing for ten years. All of this leads him to dedicate a great deal of effort to the investigation. However, aside from Sun, the killer Qu is also interested in this case. They each have their own concerns, cautiously advancing amidst the complex relationships and events, pulling and struggling against one another.
