Three eligible bachelors: architect Peter (Tom Selleck), artist Mike (Steve Guttenberg), and actor Jack (Ted Danson) live together in a luxury apartment in Manhattan. They lead carefree lives filled with romantic escapades. However, their routine is disrupted one morning when Jack is away on a film shoot. The other two roommates discover an abandoned baby girl at their apartment door, with a note from the abandoner stating that she is Jack's biological daughter. Peter and Mike are forced to take the baby inside, beginning their journey into fatherhood. Although they're accustomed to dealing with various women, caring for a baby is a first for them. They find themselves flustered and overwhelmed by the baby; however, after spending some time together, their paternal instincts start to emerge...
