The U.S. Vice President takes his daughter, Katherine Turner (played by Charlotte Kate Fox), to Japan for a state visit. During her father's work commitments, Katherine plans to enjoy her time in Japan. The Japanese Foreign Minister, Yukio Hamaguchi (played by Kōtarō Satō), has a good relationship with the Vice President and takes on the role of Katherine's escort, introducing her to his nephew, Ichirō Hamaguchi (played by Shōsuke Tanihara), an associate professor at Kwansei Gakuin University. Katherine had previously met a girl named Maiko Ogawa (played by Yūko Fueki) in the U.S. and tried to contact her, but received no response. Later, she discovers that Maiko has died in a murder case. Determined to uncover the truth, the bold and impulsive girl begins an investigation with Ichirō's help... This film is adapted from the popular mystery novel series by Misa Yamamura.
