Shu Qi is a natural gambler who goes to Macau to gamble, experiencing ups and downs each time. After a confused encounter with actress Xue, he receives three thousand dollars and subsequently wins one hundred fifty thousand at a betting station. He then goes to a karaoke to pass the time and meets a mama-san named Princess, who has a brother with "glass bone" disease and is cursed to lose every bet. Due to debts, Shu Qi is imprisoned, and Princess calls her regular customer, Uncle Mo, for help. Uncle Mo agrees to pay five hundred thousand but wants Princess to accompany him for a month. Shortly after, Uncle Mo mysteriously dies. In the chaos, the two escape from their creditor, Face Brother, but soon encounter Uncle Mo again, revealing that he is not dead...
Hong Kong has many gambling films, but it is rare to find one like this that focuses on the characteristics of a bad gambler and his legendary fate, while also being unconventional in its execution. This film does not flaunt gambling techniques like typical gambling movies, nor does it feature elaborate packaging or brand glamour, which is why it has not attracted much attention from fans. In fact, it is a solid gambling film.
