Alma Muera is a mythical mule demon from South American mythology, said to be transformed from an immoral woman who engaged in illicit affairs. She is cursed by God to become a mule bound by heavy iron chains, roaming the Andes mountains on stormy nights. Anyone who encounters her is said to be kicked to death.
