The story is set in a small town at the edge of Osaka. A middle-aged man is murdered in a residential area late at night—the murderer is a high school student. En, a second-year high school student, spends boring days with her best friend Kotoko, but as Kotoko falls in love at first sight with Narihira from the soccer club, the two slowly begin to drift apart. Jun, who also attends the same high school, passes time in a shopping mall after school, unable to say anything to his father who continues to ignore the fact that his mother left home. Eventually, while listening to The Blue Hearts, he meets Iō, who transferred from Tokyo, on a rooftop and starts to share physical intimacy without knowing what he truly desires.
