Under the mandatory veil, there are the dark fates of three Iranian women. One, whose husband is imprisoned for drug abuse, has to single-handedly care for her non-verbal infant, and since her divorce is not approved, she resorts to prostitution to survive. Another, who finally finds work after becoming pregnant, is blocked by her husband who refuses to sign the consent form for her to go to work. The third, unable to resist her feelings, has an affair with a young musician but suffers greatly for losing her virginity. In this patriarchal land filled with taboos, there is rampant gender discrimination, hypocrisy, and abuse of power. A prank phone call further highlights the immense pressure faced by women. Such a story can only be presented through animation, filmed with live actors using a green screen, then utilizing rotoscoping techniques to create a vivid and compelling Tehran tableau that powerfully denounces these issues.
