Johnny (played by Josh O'Connor) is a 24-year-old young man living with his father Martin (Ian Hart) and grandmother Deirdre (Gemma Jones) in a dependent relationship. Johnny's family runs a farm, and since his father has suffered a stroke, Johnny has to take care of everything on the farm. Johnny has a secret: he is a homosexual. To keep this secret, Johnny constantly suppresses his emotions, accumulating a lot of stress. One day, a worker named Gheorghe (Alec Secareanu) comes to the farm to help out. This older man teaches Johnny many things, and as time passes, Johnny and Gheorghe's relationship becomes increasingly intimate.
