Sammy (voiced by Billy Unger) and Ray (voiced by Carlos McCullers II) take their grandchildren Ella (voiced by Shyloh Oostwald) and Ricky (voiced by Carter Hastings) out to sea, but they are unfortunately captured by a human fishing boat. Their destination is the world's most luxurious man-made aquarium, which means that once they arrive there, they will never regain their freedom to return to the ocean. On the boat, they meet a group of fellow marine creatures, including Lobster Lulu (voiced by Joe Thomas), the strange fish Jin Bao, and the clownfish Tatz. They must not only find a way to break free from the impenetrable enclosure but also beware of the ambitious seahorse boss, a tyrannical dictator who designs an escape plan. Will it work? Furthermore, will the lost grandfather and grandchildren be reunited once again?
