Citrus Flower The city of Shirakawa Island was once the only remaining island-city in the country, but it was decided to merge it with the city on the mainland. Mizuki Tanaka, a housewife living on the island, meets novelist Shoko Katsuragi at the city's closing ceremony—her sister who left for Tokyo 20 years ago and has never returned. Shoko, now a successful writer, reads a piece filled with deep emotions for her hometown with a sense of sadness. At the end of the ceremony, Mizuki is stopped by Shoko's classmate, Kanna Miyashita, just as Shoko appears before her. Unfazed by Mizuki's blatant disdain, Shoko gets into Kanna's car with them, heading home where Mizuki's mother, husband, and daughter are waiting. Mizuki begins to reflect on the past—20 years ago in that summer when her father died in an accident. A young man from the city, Kenichi Okuzumi, brought a breath of fresh air to the struggling mother and her two daughters. Mizuki made a promise with Kenichi, but the promise was not fulfilled, leading to her hatred for her sister. The sister left the island, while the younger sister remained behind. After 20 years, their mother, Anjo, has developed dementia. Mizuki starts to become suspicious about something, and Shoko reveals shocking facts... Star of the Sea Yohei Hamazaki, born on Shirakawa Island, lives in an apartment in Tokyo with his wife, Tomomi, and son, Taichi. One day, he receives a postcard from his high school classmate Misaki Mano. In it, she mentions that she’s coming to Tokyo for work and wants to meet up with Yohei to talk about his father. Twenty years ago, in the fall when Yohei was in sixth grade, his father Hideo went missing. He left with the words "I'm going to buy a cigarette" and vanished. Was it an accident, or did something bad happen to him... After that, every night, his mother Yoshiko took Yohei to look for Hideo. Since his father's disappearance, Yoshiko started working, and seeing his mother work day and night, Yohei took out the fishing rod he had in the storage room to help support the family. While Yohei is fishing, a fellow fisherman named Yukisaku Mano slowly approaches him. Yukisaku, who claims to be a fisherman, often shares fish from his box with Yohei while chatting with him. He occasionally visits Yohei's home but becomes distant over a certain incident, and they never see each other again. Misaki, who sent the postcard, is actually Yukisaku's daughter. She desperately wants to meet Yohei to discuss a secret that Yukisaku recently disclosed to her... Line of Clouds Hirotaka Kurosaki, a popular singer born on Shirakawa Island, returns home after seven years, only to fall into the sea and lose consciousness. As he left no note, the media reports that an accident could not be ruled out. For Hirotaka, who gained fame, his hometown is a past he does not wish to be known. An incident caused by his mother, Ritsuko, when he was just an infant led to a difficult childhood spent in his hometown. A month ago, Hirotaka received a call from his classmate Yuya Ba. Yuya's father established the Ba Ironworks, a large factory on the island, which is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year. Yuya wanted to invite Hirotaka as a guest for the commemorative banquet. Hirotaka said he needed permission from his agency but couldn't refuse the persistent Yuya. Dragging his heavy footsteps back to his hometown, Hirotaka feels uncomfortable amidst the enthusiastic applause of the islanders. What exactly happened to him... ?
