In the late Ming Dynasty, a severe drought plagued the Jiangnan region, leading to widespread famine and suffering among the people. At this time, the corruption case of Cao Huazhi involving the "Two Rivers Project funds" caused a huge uproar in the capital and among the populace, inciting public hatred and shocking the palace. The Emperor issued an edict, ordering the Jingcheng Court of Judicial Review to solve the case within a specified time. Within the palace, Lord Jiu secretly spread rumors that Cao Huazhi had escaped from prison. The female constable Tie Feihua vowed to capture Cao Huazhi, declaring that she would pursue him to the ends of the earth. Tie Feihua investigated and tracked him down to Chenkou County. After several days of undercover inquiries, Cao Huazhi was finally captured. However, to everyone's surprise, Cao Huazhi firmly denied that he was Cao Huazhi, claiming his real name was Cao Yifeng, and that he was merely a lowly constable in the Chenkou County office. Tie Feihua, known as the "Imperial Appointed Divine Captor" throughout the land, had gone to great lengths—was she going to wrongfully accuse an innocent person? Tie Feihua and her assistant Liu'er escorted Cao Yifeng to the capital. Along the way, Tie Feihua encountered several groups that ambushed them, all aiming to force her to hand over Cao Huazhi. Seizing the moment while Tie Feihua was engaged with the bandits, Cao Yifeng managed to slip away and return to Chenkou County. Despite being clever throughout his life, he made a foolish mistake. Upon returning to Chenkou, he fell into the hands of a group of bandits. Just as they were about to kill him, Tie Feihua arrived in time, intervening and saving him from death. Tie Feihua announced that Cao Huazhi was in her hands, hoping to lure out anyone who might be behind the scenes by offering a reward. By chance, she learned from a soldier attempting to kill them that it was Lord Qiu from the capital who wanted Cao Huazhi dead. Meanwhile, anxiety spread throughout the capital; Lord Jiu conducted a secret investigation and took the opportunity to extort a significant sum from Lord Qiu. Upon hearing the news that Cao Huazhi was in Tie Feihua's custody, unidentified assassins arrived in droves. Tie Feihua fought back, capturing several but allowing one assassin to escape. When questioned by Cao Yifeng, Tie Feihua explained the situation and asked for his help in solving the case and uncovering the true mastermind. Touched by her loyalty and dedication, Cao Yifeng agreed to cooperate. Indeed, court officials in the capital associated with the case began to act nervously, desperately trying to eliminate witnesses. The Minister of Works, Wei Cunping, was the first to be betrayed by the assassins. Arriving in the capital, Cao Yifeng, under Tie Feihua's direction, staged a false escape to lure out Minister Wei, forcing him to confess. Tie Feihua's strategy received the support of the Court of Judicial Review and the Emperor. Under this ruse, officials involved in the "Two Rivers Project funds" began to surface, and the true identity of the mastermind, "Prince Yue," was revealed. Cao Yifeng, this humble constable from Chenkou County, saw his fortunes rise, being recommended for a position in the Court of Judicial Review at the sixth rank.
