Synopsis: The chief inspector Tie Feihua receives an invitation sent by his senior brother Leng Tianyi to attend a wedding ceremony. With joy for his brother's new union, Tie Feihua sets off. From the capital to Hening Prefecture, he rides day and night for over ten days to arrive. Before he can offer his congratulations, a beggar reports that Ning Cai'er, the daughter of the wealthiest man in Hening Prefecture, has been murdered. The governor of Hening Prefecture, Sheng Moyan, accompanies Leng Tianyi and Tie Feihua to investigate. Leng Tianyi, about to become the son-in-law of the governor, cannot refuse his father-in-law's request. Upon arriving at Ning's residence, Tie Feihua discovers that Ning Cai'er has been killed by a unique sword used by the descendants of Gongsun, and the body is still warm.
