David (played by Christopher Gorham) has a wife who suffers from a terminal illness and soon leaves him forever, leaving behind their young son Patrick (played by Julian Feder). Thus, David becomes a single father. Patrick is a special child; he has autism, which complicates David's already difficult life as a single parent. Previously, his wife was the one who communicated with Patrick, but now that responsibility falls on David, who finds himself not knowing how to start a conversation and unaware of what his son thinks about all day. Life is equally challenging for Patrick. In a time of despair, both David and Patrick choose to retreat into their own worlds—David finds a very busy job and immerses himself in it, while Patrick escapes into his imaginary world filled with fantasy.
