Synopsis: The eunuch Wang Jiangyang is on a imperial visit back home, causing various factions in the martial world to take action. Wang Jiangyang is a close confidant of the palace's chief eunuch, Sun Zhi, who is notorious for corruption and misdeeds. The Ninth Marquis has attempted multiple times to eliminate him but has failed due to the palace's influence. Now that Wang Jiangyang is returning home, it presents the Ninth Marquis with an opportunity to remove him. Inspector Tie Feihua has just received a secret order from the Ninth Marquis and secretly follows Wang Jiangyang, but receives instructions from Sun Zhi to escort him with General Wu Zeng of the Embroidered Uniform Guard, ensuring that nothing goes wrong. Sun Zhi's arrangement is actually a communication from Shuang Feiyan, the fourth master of the Seven Colors Gate, who explicitly states the intention to take Wang Jiangyang's life. The Seven Colors Gate has long been despised by the court. Sun Zhi wants to use Wang Jiangyang's visit home as bait to lure the Seven Colors Gate out and capture them all at once. Considering Wang Jiangyang's safety, Sun Zhi pretends to issue a royal decree to arrange for Tie Feihua to escort him; if Wang Jiangyang's life is at risk, then Tie Feihua's life is also in jeopardy. The martial world desires Wang Jiangyang's life, which naturally pleases the Ninth Marquis. Before Wang Jiangyang leaves the capital, the Ninth Marquis secretly instructs Tie Feihua to avoid getting too involved. Wang Jiangyang's group leaves the capital in a grand procession under the protection of Tie Feihua and the Embroidered Uniform Guard, heading for Fujian. Just after leaving the capital, the martial world initiates an assassination attempt, with Miss Wanyun from the Fast Joy Hall ordered by Master Ye to carry out the hit; Shuang Feiyan from the Seven Colors Gate secretly follows, waiting for a chance to strike. Along the way, Wang Jiangyang's drastic personality change raises suspicions from Wanyun, Shuang Feiyan, and Tie Feihua: Why is Wang Jiangyang being so low-key and charitable? Why is there no military escort along the way? With these questions, Tie Feihua carefully guards while pondering, eventually he discovers a clue: "Could it be that Wang Jiangyang has another purpose for this journey?" Connecting this to the Ninth Marquis's warning before leaving the capital, Tie Feihua gradually becomes confident in his judgment. After leaving Yunzhu Prefecture, Wang Jiangyang continues to Chengzhou, but upon realizing there are no movements from the Seven Colors Gate, he grows anxious about failing to fulfill the task given by Eunuch Sun, and thus takes out Sun's secret order to explain the real purpose of the trip to Tie Feihua. The order he presents corroborates Tie Feihua’s judgment. As a result, Tie Feihua changes his mind and plans to eliminate Wang Jiangyang halfway by cleverly using General Wu Zeng's hands under the guise of escorting Wang Jiangyang home. Upon arriving in Xiemazhen, Wu Zeng provides Tie Feihua with an opportunity to use a blade against Wang Jiangyang. To flatter Wang Jiangyang, Wu Zeng falls for a trick played by Wanyun, who is disguised as a village girl. Wanyun claims she can capture Shuang Feiyan alive, demanding 100,000 taels of silver. In Xiemazhen, Wanyun brings the “captured” Shuang Feiyan to the yamen. During the haggling, both sides engage in a scuffle. Tie Feihua, under the pretense of protecting Wang Jiangyang, secretly strikes Wang Jiangyang's acupoint, giving Wanyun and Shuang Feiyan the chance to assassinate him. Wang Jiangyang meets a tragic end in Xiemazhen; Wu Zeng is taken back to the Ministry of Punishments by Tie Feihua on charges of "colluding with the martial world." The "borrowing a blade" plan concludes here.
