Flipper (Wesley Snipes) is an architect who lives a very tranquil life with his wife Drew (Lonette McKee). One day, Flipper hires a new assistant—a white woman of Italian descent named Angie (Annabella Sciorra), and soon, the two spark a romantic connection at work. Flipper begins an underground affair with Angie, sharing the news with his friend Cyrus (Spike Lee), while Angie confesses to her boyfriend Polite.
