The film tells the story of the dark era during the Japanese imperialist occupation, where names, mother tongues, and dreams were not allowed. It follows the story of Korean patriotic poet Yun Dong-ju (played by Kang Ha-na), who, influenced by his friend Song Maeng-kyu (played by Park Jung-min), also an independence activist, inspires the younger generation through poetry.
