In post-winter Paris, Anna meets her husband Clément's friend, Saro. Anna is always worried about this friend, feeling he is not of good character. Clément, who has a short temper, soon has a falling out with his father, the boss, and resigns from the family factory. Their poor financial situation leaves Anna constantly frowning, so Clément decides to take her out to a nightclub to cheer her up. Unfortunately, they run into Anna's old lover, Maré, whose flirtatious actions with Anna make Clément extremely jealous. Driven by this incident, Anna decides to leave her husband. Clément, deeply in love with her, is heartbroken and turns to alcohol to drown his sorrows until one day Saro calls him. It turns out Clément has joined a radical organization. The group has twelve members, and Saro has been elected as the leader and organizer. They meet twice a month for training, disguising their terror activities under the guise of a hunting organization. They train during the day and teach theory at night. Saro argues that Western capitalism is rotting and that they need to use force to establish a new regime. This assassination targets city councilor Théras, and the hitman is Clément. This is Clément's first assassination, and although he is very nervous, he succeeds. However, news of the manhunt for Clément spreads quickly, and the "dead" Théras even gives interviews about how he escaped misfortune with the help of a mysterious person. Clément immediately realizes everything; he has been betrayed, and the traitor is Saro. Out of desperation, Clément and his wife Anna flee to the countryside to stay with his friend Paul. But Clément cannot extinguish the anger in his heart and soon decides to seek revenge, leaving a heartbroken Anna behind. Paul takes care of her and helps her start a new life, and they fall in love. Clément pursues Saro across great distances and finally kills his enemy in what he believes is the right way, but he becomes a notorious murderer. Upon returning to Paris, Clément discovers that Anna is pregnant with Paul's child, which enrages him, and he arranges a duel with Paul on an island in the middle of the river. Paul, after much reluctance, is forced to shoot and kill Clément.
