As summer fades into autumn, Tatsuhei Matsubara (played by Hiroshi Yakusho), who runs a wine specialty shop in Nagano, experiences a mix of emotions while sending his daughter into the hall of marriage. Since his wife's passing 20 years ago, Matsubara has devoted himself to raising his daughter, even giving up another love in the process. However, his daughter's marriage seems to make this strong man feel the loss and desolation of emotions. After this, he temporarily sets aside his work and visits his old friend, writer Shige Munekatsu (played by Ryo Iwamatsu), in Kyoto and reconnects with his high school friend Kousuke Yamabe (played by Tentenshiki). At Yamabe's request, Matsubara goes to a nightclub to investigate his friend's daughter—who is also Matsubara's daughter's friend—Reiko (played by Noriko Nakagawa). Reiko has secretly had feelings for Matsubara since childhood, and it seems that the hidden emotions of this middle-aged man are also starting to resurface...This film is adapted from the original work by Haru Inoue and commemorates the 60th anniversary of CBC.
