Xia Pei (played by Ashley Tisdale), who dreams of becoming a star, is discovered by a talent scout. She arrives in New York with her pet dog Bowie, hoping to make a name for herself. However, once in this glamorous city, Xia Pei realizes that reality is not what she had imagined. Making it big here is not an easy task. Xia Pei's father worries about his daughter being alone and susceptible to deception, so they reach an agreement: he will give her one month to pursue her dreams, and if she doesn't land a job within that time, she must obediently return home to work at the country club run by her father.
