Due to a mistake at work, inventor Robert (played by Kevin Spacey) created a piece of exercise equipment that resulted in thousands of hand injuries. Consequently, Robert was sentenced to eight years in prison to atone for his wrongdoing. Eight years later, upon his release, Robert does not feel the joy of regained freedom. On the contrary, when he discovers that his ex-wife has moved on and taken over the house and assets, a mix of anger and pain overwhelms him.
