Chikuko (played by Momoe Yamaguchi) and Mako (played by Momoe Yamaguchi) are a pair of twin sisters. After their birth, the elder sister Chikuko is abandoned due to their family's poverty and is fortunately adopted by a silk wholesaler, becoming a pampered young lady.
