The down-and-out man Shigeo Omoshiro (played by Subaru Shibuya) is released from prison, only to be kidnapped by an unidentified person on a street corner and beaten into unconsciousness. When Shigeo wakes up again, he seems to have forgotten his name and past. Following the sound of singing, he finds himself in a nearby park, grabs the microphone from the lead singer of the performing band "Aka Inu," and screams a song called "Old Diary," before fainting again. The band's manager, Koyori (played by Fumi Nikaido), takes him home and names him "Little One." She searches everywhere for the man's home but finds nothing.
