Mackay Kenta (played by Takuya Kimura) was originally a piano performer. After being unexpectedly fired, he found himself in a place said to be "heaven," where he became a clerk at the "Heaven Bookstore." Kenta's main task is to read to the customers who come to the bookstore. One day, a beautiful woman named Hiyama Shoko (played by Yūko Takeuchi) arrived at the store, surprising Kenta as she turned out to be his former music mentor, the one who inspired him to pursue music in the first place.
