The rebellious and rude 15-year-old girl Lulu (played by Chloé Coulloud) lives with her parents in the quiet countryside of France. Her mother Juliette (played by Karin Viard) is frail and often unwell. In Lulu's memory, her mother has never shown a happy side and often sits alone on a bench at night, deep in thought. By chance, Lulu discovers a photo of her mother from her youth in the cellar, where her mother is topless and smiling brightly. Soon, Lulu finds a tape at her grandmother's house, showing her young mother in love with a handsome veterinarian named Jacques (played by Kad Merad), carefree and deeply in love. Learning the reason behind her mother’s gloom, Lulu decides to arrange a reunion for them. She originally hoped that the now older and less attractive Jacques would shatter her mother’s illusions, but unexpectedly, it reignites the passion between the old lovers...
